Putting your own personal touch to an item you own always makes things a little more special and finally, we can personalise our own investment sneakers. Farfetch recently partnered with London-based footwear brand Swear to launch the first-ever luxury online footwear customisation platform called MySwear. Today I'm excited to share with you a design I have created using the service. When it comes to investment pieces, I always want to make sure every aspect of the design is functional and suits my personality so the more choice I have when it comes to these kind of products, the better. The process of customising your own shoes is super easy. You start off by choosing your style of shoe (laces or slip ons, round or pointed toe, hi-tops or not). Then you move on to choosing the materials and colour combinations for each part of the shoe - the front panels, side panels, collar, laces, lining and sole. Here you can choose from all sorts of luxurious materials in a huge range of colours from your basic white and black shades to metallic colours and other bright colours. Once you're done with the design you get the option of embossing your initials on! For me, I love the white sneaker look but wanted something a bit more personal than the typical plain white sneakers you normally come across. So for me, I went for a mainly white shoe because I wanted something classic and versatile, but with a twist. I chose the Vyner style and added a unique touch of creamy white hairy calf leather to the side panels and finished it off with gold lace holes and embossed initials on the tongue of the shoe. There's so much more you can do with your own design too like adding metallic toe caps and all. Once the design is ordered, the only thing to do left is wait for them to be handmade in Portugal and shipped to your doorstep!Photography: Rowena Cao using Canon Australia 35mm L lens.
