Park Hotel Tokyo Artist Rooms 1 - Cherry Blossom Room

I loved our stay at Park Hotel Tokyo's artist rooms so much last time that I knew we just had to go back to experience more of it. If you haven't heard of Park Hotel Tokyo, do start off by checking out my first post on the property which I put together last year, which will give you a good introduction to the hotel, its location and facilities.

For our second visit to Park Hotel Tokyo, I wanted to experience some of the other rooms. The Cherry Blossom Room was definitely one of my favourites so I was so excited to stay here for the first part of our stay. The Cherry Blossom Room was painted by artist Hiroko Otake, who used little butterflies as cherry blossom petals to symbolise the transience of nature. In Japan, Japanese people are especially fascinated by fleeting moments like cherry blossom season so this room provides a unique appreciation of this part of their culture. The gold foiling on the wall and being able to sleep under a sky of butterflies makes this room even more magical. How beautiful is this room!

The second Artist Room which we had the chance to experience was the newly completed 'EN' room by Mariko Kobayashi. This was the last room on the Artist Room floor to be completed and is also one of my favourites. The EN room is a king size room so it is one of the bigger rooms on the floor. The entire room is covered by stunning, 3D textile art on every surface from the walls, chairs, cushions and even doorknobs. Within the art, are animals and plants celebrating the beauty of nature and our spiritual connection with it in everything we do. It's the most beautiful place to stay and sometimes makes it hard to want to leave! We made sure we got back every afternoon for sunset because the view from the large window was just stunning.

Artist Room tour

For those staying at Park Hotel Tokyo, the hotel opens numerous artist rooms two times a week so that you can view the beautiful art in the rooms. If you see something you fall in love with, you can upgrade your room to an artist room at any time during your stay. This is a single room perfect for a solo traveller. The walls are painted to reflect the Japanese countryside with little quirky details like these painted wooden birds.

This was the first ever Artist Room in Park Hotel Tokyo! Perfect for someone who loves the sport - this would be a great surprise getaway for them.Beauty of Akita by Yuki Ohtani With traditional cedar wood installed all over, this room celebrates the beauty of the city of Akita.Geisha Goldfish by Aki Narita Of course we had to revisit this beauty!

Some things I journaled which I loved about staying at Park Hotel Tokyo...

• Tsukiji Market - It's so close by (maybe 5 minutes walk) so for sushi lovers, this hotel is exactly where you want to be if you plan to have sushi every day.

• Close to transport - Park Hotel Tokyo is basically built above the JR/Metro stations. The lift at the hotel takes you straight to the basement floor where you can walk straight to the station without having to battle the elements.

• Next to Caretta Shiodome - In winter and near Christmas time, Caretta Shiodome always puts together a beautiful illumination display. Plus, there's also a really good udon shop there (which I have forgotten the name of) but it's on the outside of the Caretta Shiodome building, right where the illumination is.

• Don Quijote - If you don't already know about this crazy souvenir heaven, then get onto it right now. For those who are obsessed with Japanese food, beauty and knickknacks, Don Quijote (affectionally known as Don-K in Japan) is where you want to be and there's one 5 minutes walk from the hotel.

• Coin Laundry - I super appreciate any hotel with a coin laundry with washer and dryer so I was super happy to see a coin laundry room at Park Hotel Tokyo

• Packing boxes - Park Hotel Tokyo has two cardboard box sizes which you can purchase should you need extra luggage space. It's really convenient especially on your last day in Japan when you've realised that you need boxes to pack your extra shopping. If you do have a lot of shopping, I would recommend you ask the hotel to organise your transport to the airport by car to avoid the stress.
